HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Tsiyinu M/A Basic school is located in farming community, Tsiyinu in the southern part of Volta Region, specifically Ketu North Municipality. The school was established in the early 1950s. Though it collapsed a few years later, it was revived in the early 1980s. Sister schools closer are Kporkuve Basic school and Agordeke Basic school.

The performance of the BECE results have not seen any significant improvement in recent years

To create the enabling atmosphere for learners to develop fully their God given talents to propel them in all spheres of life.

STUDENT PROFILE

Students attending Tisyinu M/A Basic school are mostly from very low-income family segments.

The school’s enrolment keeps fluctuating due to continuous engagement of learners if farming activities. Currently the enrolment is 188 made up of 101 boys 87 girls

LEADERSHIP

Tsiyinu M/A basic is headed by an active and hardworking young head teacher with supportive bodies such as School Management Committee (SMC) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

STAFFING

The staff strength of the school is made of ten (10) active professional teachers and one Pupil-Teacher who is almost done with his professional course. All are male teachers with one female and are all currently at post.
